The Vision and Mission of Grama Panchayats in Kerala primarily aim to improve rural life through decentralization of power and sustainable development. According to LSGD Kerala, they are as follows:

To transform Grama Panchayats into centers of excellence, ensuring that services reach the people in a time-bound manner, and enabling them to formulate and implement sustainable development projects through self-sufficiency.
